It is a privilege for me to be here today, to talk about Remembrance Day and the sacrifices made so we can live with freedom and in peace.
One day a year, we gather in ceremonies and memorials like this to remember what our brave men and women gave to this country.
But it is on every other day that we enjoy the victories they won on battlefields all over the world.
I would like to whole-heartedly thank all of Alberta’s veterans and current Armed Forces personnel for all that they have done—and continue to do—for our province and country.
When Canada and Alberta are in need, we know we can count on the strength of the Canadian Armed Forces to deliver relief and security.
Whether it is during natural disasters, peace keeping missions, or in conflicts, Canadian soldiers have always answered the call of duty and achieved their goals honourably.
Due to the noble efforts of our soldiers, global citizens and leaders can look to Canada as an example of tolerance, equality and freedom.
Our soldiers fought and are fighting to uphold these values, and they will always act as our ambassadors and portray these values.
So today, it is a privilege to stand and honour the brave men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces, both past and present.
Let us never forget.
